My friend strung these pearls herself. They remind me of tiny red onions!
Yes, that's right. I'm talking Crawfish Season, ya'll! Don't these little buggers just make your mouth water? What else gives you as much pleasure when ripping their heads off? This past weekend Bryan and I rode our bikes to meet up with some friends for a crawfish get-together. It was one of those perfect days to do just about anything, and we chose to spend it hanging out with friends and eating. Eating about 15 lbs of mudbugs, that is. Obviously, this stuff is not for the faint of heart. They look like big insects (or small lobsters) and your fingers turn to a total wreck. The process of eating them is not a pretty sight, but they SURE ARE GOOD (especially when seasoned to perfection with yummy Cajun spices)!
Hope everyone else can get their fill of crawfish before it's too late!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love crawfish....looks so delicious.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if I have ever eaten them, except maybe in a stew? things tend to lose their specificity that way. Are you wearing a knife pendant? Very cute, I have one too! Well-designed blog too, I appreciate that.

Mmmm gotta love crawfish season! You're not in Louisiana, are you? My best friend's family is from New Orleans, and I went to one of their crawfish boils one time-- seriously one of the best culinary experiences of my life. And it's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!

The picture of you attacking the craw fish is probably the best.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I could ever, ever eat that kind of sea food, like shrimp and prawns. Whenever I look at them, I think "crickets of the sea." And then I get a shiver down my spine. :)
You are majorly adorable, though!

Maeko, thereafterish.
wow they look amazing!
ReplyDeleteBumpkin on a Swing: Well, thank for digging up all those yummy crawfish! I have you to thank!
ReplyDeleteMelina Bee: Yes, the pendant is a knife or dagger or scimitar. One of those three!
Robyn: I'm in Texas, but I did live in New Orleans for my college years. I wonder if I can be considered an honorary Cajun?
