New Friends

Thanks to Vanessa from The Velvet Bird, I won this adorable felt bird necklace. The bigger felt bird was an extra surprise. Space Age Peacock and Giveaway

I recently attended a gala, and this was my outfit. I just have a thing for matchy-matchy, what can I say. All the silver shades seemed to work (at least in my mind).

Now on to the juicier segment:

De Colores

The lone survivor of a mini Asos spending spree I treated myself too. Unfortunately, everything else had to go back due to quality or impracticability issues. On the upside, Asos now has a U.S. return center.

Looking for the Pot of Gold

I was in dire need of some color, so I put on my new yellow scalloped shorts, the brightest pair of shoes I could find, and a bright pink vintage cuff I picked up at Retropolis. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Any more color and I would probably be mistaken for a rainbow. That's cool. No offense to my favorite boys (Rick Owens and Gareth Pugh), but I still like to inject some cheery colors into my outfits once in awhile.

Never Enough Black

So I traded in my Pixies for a more sleek and defined silhouette. These wedges are sooo comfy. Dare I say even more comfortable than the Pixies even though they're a half inch taller? I love how they hit the bottom of my ankle rather than mid ankle creating a more streamlined continuation of the leg. I wore them out to our friends' Gemini twin party in which only B and I and our friends who threw the party actually dressed up for the theme. Go figure.

Finger Foods

I'm a fairly adventurous eater which I can attribute to my Asian upbringing. I'm serious when I say we eat practically every part of the animal. Thankfully, I have friends who will indulge my cravings for what some would consider "exotic" food.

We went to my favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Houston, The Blue Nile. Ok, so it's the only Ethiopian restaurant I've tried in this city, but the homey atmosphere and service always keep me coming back for more.

The Tonka Truck in My Front Yard

Summer is the perfect time to wear a romper. Granted, it might not be the most convenient thing to have on in case of a bathroom emergency, but who needs convenience when you can feel like a 5-year-old again? This one, in particular, is so comfy that I could roll around in it all day and fall asleep in it too.

These photos show the ridiculous construction that B and I have been dealing with outside our home. Half of the street is torn up, and it's usually a big ordeal just to get out of the driveway. Well, we turned a bad situation into an opportunity by being mischievous and having an impromptu photoshoot with some of the big machines after the workers left.

Did you also notice something new on my face? Yes, yes, I broke down and got these after waiting forever to see them in person. Ugh, I really hate it when marketing campaigns work (on me). I also broke my vow not to buy any more designer sunnies after a traumatic beach incident with my last pair, but I think these are worth it. The medium cat eyes are perfectly oversized to fit my not-so-small face and the clear frames are the most versatile you can get. I did also try on the neon green ones which didn't nearly look as cool on me as it did on the model. I'm pretty sure they made me look like Slimer from Ghostbusters.
